Bushbuck Carbine got bloody this morning

First kill with the Bushbuck. 139 yards with laser. Pro Slug .457 305g Assassin. My Friend Don(arizonapcp)was doing the calling. Thank You Don! And a shout out to John @ Pro Slugs and Kip at AOA, Excellent customer service and products

Awesome... and well done. Looks like from the picture it was a good heart lung shot at 139 yards! That looks like a big dog for Arizona as well.

Youngbuck,

The carbine has and over length of 41” and the standard length is 49.5”

You didn’t ask but will add the barrel length on the carbine is 22” Vs 30” on the full length gun.

I’ve only tested two different slugs as I really wanted to run the Pro Slug 305g HP as my go to slug for everything out of this rifle. I started with the 230g High Arc. The 230 shoots Equally as well out of the rifle. I picked the 305g based more on personal Preference.

I will post pics of these two slugs in a couple weeks after I shoot them into 10% clear ballistic gel.

230g High Arc HP 

865FPS

382FPE

Gun will do more FPE I just found the PSI fills I use to give me the best first two shot groups @100yards Untethered.

On a loud Distinct impact the dog went into a flat spin and made it 20 +/- yards

That is the first time I ever heard of the carbine version. I always thought that gun would be better with a shorter barrel and tube. I'll have to look into it closer as my next big bore. Thanks for sharing!

You bet.. I was in AOA a couple weeks ago and seen one on shelf. Was talking to Kip at AOA and he said the reason behind coming out with the carbine was he wanted to run the arrows out of a Bushbuck. With the 22” barrel I guess you can do that. I prefer carbine length big bore airguns for the hunting I do.

I wonder if that stock could be exchanged for a thump hole boyd's thumb hole stock. I saw Pip had a video with the stock I like in the Coatimundi video. I should contact him.

Didnt know these existed either. Sold my full size a while back. Not to bust your balls, but if the carbine is anything like the full length one, you're supposed to shoot .452 diameter out of it, not .457
