Split the difference. A semi bullpup. Vulcan tactic .25

How's the parts avalibility?

I know one of the major airgun shops gave up on them with parts avalibility.

I had the AP 16 pistol, brilliant gun, the Valcun looks to be at a good shot count and has a normal rifle look and just the right size with a CZ barrel, yum yum :)

So I take it that Kral and Benji are not thought to highly of due to price point?

The craftsman series are good guns in there price point. Made by kral to benjamin standards, I have the Cayden, I can't comment on the akela , I have never shot it. Many here have stated that it is good. I have a friend that has the kratos in .25 it's a tack driver. My Cayden is accurate as well , well made, and in my price range. t's not as engineered or refined as FX, EDGUN, RTI, HUBAN K1 or the like, ( kinda like me) If we are talking wish list guns that I would love to have, #1 edgun matador R5M standard in walnut . quality, performance, and what a looker!! As you can see, what I want ,and what I can afford have a big curve . I saw in your other post that you got your prod and mrod , enjoy them shoot them and you may find they are all you need.

The Benji Akela is a very attractive rifle. Love the walnut stock. That said, all my guns (both firearms and airguns) are meant to be workhorses. They have synthetic stocks and I rattle can most of them. At the immediate moment I do not have any "safe queens." As much as I'd like a 28 gauge O/U shotgun, in all likelihood I could never justify that purpose right now! That would definitely be a safe queen!

Here's an example of a carbine I painted up:

Has anyone ever rattle-canned an airgun? - Airgun Nation

There are some cheaper Turkish made 28ga o/u, I use to duck hunt with a traditions (Turkish made) 3.5 12ga. The use to hold the American trap association shoot not to far from me. Most guns there were on the other side of the spectrum… perazzi. I was handed a $140k perazzi and freaked when o saw the price of what was in my hands.

I was never a shotgun person. Might have shot clays maybe twice in my life, didn't do too shabby if I may say. Now get me into a friendly benchrest comp or silhouettes and I'm game!

You don't mention your budget.

You do mention Kral

I have put down a deposit on the soon to be released Reximex* Throne gen2, on paper it offers a lot for the money

Sometimes a lesser known brand will offer good value, to begin with to up it's profile.

This may of course be wishful thinking in this instance, hence,

"On paper" " sometimes"

Maybe worth a look.

*Reximex = Kral like Lexus = Toyota.

Good luck.

I just learned that Kral makes the Benji Akela. Fancy that...

Based on Timing and some things I've heard, the Crosman Craftsman/Kral association is part of what began the Reximex line. IE: Kral worked with Crosman to design a line with superior QC and features for Crosman, and in doing began working on the Reximex line as well. It looks like they started with the "Daystar" which is is very much akin to the Cayden.

I started my bullpup journey with the super affordable hatsan flashpup s. Great gun. Dont let the inexpensive price tag away you. I have a bulldog a kral a dreampup and an aea challenger all great in their own. I really like the light weight and easy handling of my dreampup. I bought it used for 700$. Great deal. I think the akela would be a nice entry choice. Who knows you may not like the ergonomic of it. But if you do like it there's always room for the next one. Lol. Whatever your choice enjoy it and forget about the compared price tag.
