Benjamin Bulldog .357 arrived

First off I have no idea what I am going to do with this beast. Gunbroker ridiculously low bid that held up.

Appears to hold air.

Came with:
Case
UTG Accushot 4-16x44
30 Benjamin eXTREME 145gr
200 JSB 81.02gr

Added
STO MUS II moderator.

Put 3 of the 145gr down range
740fps 180FPE

Action is LOUD
MUS II is a superb moderator.

Now I just need to figure out for what I can use it.

@Ratzy It’s not a quiet air rifle. Did you get it for less than $350?

It should shoot those 81 grain JSBs nicely within 50-60 before you start seeing a significant drop. Those 145 grain noslers are ovey expensive. Griffin Airgun Ammo and NSA make 145 grain and 140 grain slugs that perform just as good or better from the Bulldogs I’ve shot.

When you bid on it what did you intend to use it for? I’d like to see a photo of that moderator. I thought STO only made moderators up to .30 caliber.

At my door under $500. Tax, shipping, fees included.

As I said, no clue what I would us it for. Probably send it north to the nephew.

It is quiet now, MUS II moderator is the best. Just that action right in the ear
Bid was $385 and due to a screw up on their part the shipping was refunded.

Ended up about $425

Nice score!

If the gun ends up being a keeper (for either you or your nephew), and the loud action continues to be an annoyance, you could likely quiet it down some with some mastic applied to it. IT is pretty cheap stuff from Amazon. It does not look great, but it makes the gun more pleasant to shoot.

Here is a post I made on doing it to my Sidewinder: https://www.airgunnation.com/thread...-of-my-22-western-airguns-sidewinder.1316512/

When he said the action is loud I just thought he meant that because it’s a bullpup and it’s close to his ear. I wasn’t even thinking about the ping.
Yeah, that is quite the SPROING! when it fires. I was looking there are several aftermarket depingers. So I'll throw money at the problem and see how one of them works.

I am amazed the effectiveness of the STO MUS II moderator. I asked on the STO website what they recommended and it was the MUS II. I have Sarissa and a couple Falx and they are good, the MUS II is another step better.
