Budget chronograph, is it worth it?

I'm seriously considering purchasing an Xcortech X3200 airsoft chronograph to test my pellet velocities. I can get one off of Aliexpress for around $60, I just can't justify $100+ for a chrony to test my air guns. Has anyone else gone this route? What are your thoughts?

I looked for a while for mine and decided to get the prochrono, it works great. I do believe you can pick one up at midwayusa for 89.99. Look around for a coupon code and get it even cheaper. I know it's a little more that the $60 but I know nothing about the one you are talking about.

There is a YouTube channel called Rackandload. He regularly uses that chrony. A friend and I recently got a chrony alpha to check out our air rifles. It is not impressive at all. You have to line up just so for it to even register a shot.

Buying junk is expensive compared to buying right the first time.
On the cheap end for a chronograph I'd recommend the Competition Electronics Pro Chrony.
It is a good chronograph.

There is a Caldwell chronograph on sale at midway for $70 never used it but seems like a good deal.

Get the Prochrono w/light kit. You need the light kit for accurate readings.

If at all possible do not buy cheap tools.
Like others stated shop around for a great price on a little better unit.
Once you buy it it belongs to you.

I agree with the Prochrono choice. I use lights from Harbor Freight instead of a light kit and it works fine. I haven't had any issue with this at all. I have had mine for about 7 years now.
