Buck Fever

Yes it is funny how they seem to know what is dangerous to them. I set up my spinners at about 60 yards and was shooting at them with my 22 caliber Sumatra when 2 bucks and 2 does wandered across our field about 20 yards behind my spinners, they stopped and started to eat while I carried on shooting. To my dismay they just looked up for a second and then continued to eat as the pellets smacked the spinners, they still did not run and eventually just strolled of up the hillside behind the spinners. Luckily for them I am no hunter, as the bucks both had some good sized racks on them, Neil.

Deer have not a clue as to projectiles being lobbed in their direction. They wander out onto the firearms range all the time and they have to call a cease fire until they move through. People are shooing .308, 30-06, 300 BLK and .223 all around them and they haven't the slightest clue as to what is happening around them. Loud noise scares them usually, but unless a round strikes near them and kicks up some dirt or makes a noise they are clueless.Â
