Saw someone use this on YouTube recently to set up their scope and thought it was a good idea. I might give it a go.

Why not just use the level on your iPhone? If you use the built in compass app you can turn that into a nice digital level. The beauty is the screen turns green when it is level. Although I can't see the real benefit if you plan was to your gun to test for cant?
