About a month ago I picked up a decent .177 BSA Super Meteor. Overall it’s in good cosmetic condition, but it was shooting weak. It averaged 390 fps with 7.8 JSBs.
I was going to get a new spring but then I remembered that someone used to make gas rams for them. I found them at Custom Air Seals in Australia.

Ordered one up and about two weeks later it arrived.
installation was pretty straight forward, but unlike tear down, you definitely need a spring compressor to install it.
I test fired several 7.8 JSBs and the average was 660 fps. I couldn’t be more pleased. The shot cycle is smooth and brisk. Of course there is no spring twang either
