BSA scorpion SE with Donnyfl

I've owned a Scorpion SE in .25. I liked it a lot but ended up selling it when I got more .25's with higher shot count and power. They are great rifles, not super powerful, but manners are great I liked the trigger a lot. I recommend getting a shroud for it to quiet it down the most. That's what I did and I found to be more effective than any Donny FL I put on it, the largest being the Ronin. I also didn't like the look and weight of the bigger moderator on the end of the barrel. The shroud adds a little length compared to a compact moderator, but it works better. They used to be called Huub shrouds but are sold now under a different name from the UK or Netherlands.

...definitely prefer the shroud...never liked the looks of a muffler...

...that said the smallest DonnyFL silencer made it so a loud AP16 pistol was quieter than the flight and impact of the projectiles...

...that sound alone makes my back yard a bit unfriendly...the neighbor(s) will start to notice that sound if I shoot more than a few times...

...one already noticed the pop of the unmoderated AP16...I fired three shots to test it's zero before I got the silencer and she was out nosing around...

Ah yes I do recall hearing about these. I think huma sells them now. Just need to sell a powder burner to free up some cash and wait for a good used one to pop up on here

I’ve got two Sumos. I don’t have a BSA, aren’t they owned by Gamo? I’ve heard they are a pretty quiet brand, literally and figuratively. Why that gun?

BSA are quality, im unliekly to find better quality for the price you can find then for, and the lower shot count is less of an issue as most of what I do is hunting and farm pest control.

I'm also british and living in Wisconsin now and something appeals to be about british guns in general, also I like the idea of owning this Version i could never have owned in the uk (uk has 12ft/lb limit)

I have the older single shot Scorpion. It is nice handling and accurate rifle, but it is LOUD and the shot count is not good. I got 20-25 good shot on a fill stock with my .177 running at about 19 ft lbs. The hammer bounce was obvious from the report whenever I had a hill in front of my to bounce the sound back at me. I cut the stock hammer spring and set it with no preload and now get about 40 shots at 14.5 ft lbs. This is good enough for field target and as far as I want to bother tuning it. I looked into the hammer debounce devices some have added and they look kind of half assed to me. For the money that new Scorpions sell for, I think there are better options available now.

What part of the UK? I lived in Bath while @ uni there.

The SEs are nice guns and pretty easy to work on. XTXAir has his videos on YouTube still. RKR on GTA has a lot of advice for tunnng. If the power is low on them you'll need to remove the knock off valve.

I have a .25 Scorpion in an Ultra walnut stock.

Nice gun. My parents are in Cheshire but was living in Hereford prior to moving here. Used to get down to the Bristol area frequently

The R10 is very nice and shoulders well. Same action just a bottle, better trigger and reg. Id take one over the Scorpion. The butt pad is adjustable. There was a thread AGN from yesterday that Yo referenced where they had new old stock for under $600. I think it was on amazon.

I looked. Cheapest R10 currently I can find is $1199
