BSA R10 tuning

I've had my r10 in .22 since January and I have not any problems with it until now. The gun shoots great except the bolt has been grinding and shaving off flakes of metal. I started to watch videos on Youtube on how strip down the gun and started stripping the gun a few days ago. I also I order a carbon fiber tank to prepare for the EBR. Putting on the carbon fiber tank was a chore to install but I got it done. After finally putting back the gun together and running it over the chronograph, I have noticed a few things about the r10.

I have noticed this with higher end gun I've own such as the cricket, matador, and now the r10. As compared to an mrod .25 I use to own, I noticed the higher end guns don't need much done to the gun to tune it. Just set the reg and increase the hammer spring until you reach the desire speed you want and thats it. The mrod required more adjustment to reach your desired tune which was the hammer striker (or is it called valve striker?). With the mrod, you make major adjustments with the hammer spring then use the hammer striker to make fine adjustments.

When the r10 had the original 190 cc bottle air tank, I was getting about 40 very consistent shots. With the new 480 cc carbon fiber tank, I'm getting 136 shots at 847 fps and 107 shots at 853 fps. I made a miner increase in the hammer spring which gave a little faster speed but noticed it was less efficient with air. So far, I'm very pleased with the carbon fiber tank and it should get me through one card at EBR.

Other then cleaning, polishing, and lubing parts on higher end guns, what else can I do improve the performance? Anything I'm missing?

Hotbrass,
thank you the brass fill prob plug tip. I wondered about dust getting in to the fill port. I ordered the single shot adapter from them but I didn't notice the plug. Will order the plug too. The moderator looks tempting but I hate to make the r10 longer then it already is. The stock shroud doesn't quite down the gun as much.
