BSA R10 MK2 reg leaking .

Hey guys , I haven't shot my BSA R10 mk2 for about six months according to the gauge It still had air in It , so anyway I was about to top It up and heard It leaking air from the trigger area , after taking the stock and bottle of I felt air coming from the regulator I'm guessing Its the o rings on the reg or Is It something inside the reg that fails ? So I was thinking would It be worth fitting a huma reg or just fit new O rings on the stock reg If indeed that's what It Is.

Thanks for any input .

I have heard nothing but good things about the Huma regs for the R10's. With that said, the factory reg in my R10 is working quite well (50 shots @ 876fps avg - extreme spread of 15). The R10 reg is not difficult to work on and it is most likely the o-ring on the reg piston that is leaking. If you don't mind spending the $$, I would go ahead and install the Huma. Check out the series of videos by XTX Air on working on the R10.

Mine did the same thing after sitting for awhile. When I put it up the reg had worked great with no problems. My regulator had the green crap inside that most people find when they have issues with the oem regulator and take them apart. I put a huma in and my R10 has performed even better than before and it was a very accurate rifle to begin with.

I havnt done a full string on the huma but I did do about 20 shots just to be sure of the velocity and hammer spring setting confirming I had it set the way I wanted. With my factory regulator I believe the ES on a shot string was normally around 15 fps. When I got done adjusting my hammer spring for the huma and I ran 20 - 25 shots to confirm settings the ES was sub 10 fps and if my memory is correct it was only 6 fps. I used unsorted pellets for both strings since I dont normally sort by weight in my .22 pcp rifles. Even tho the factory reg performed very good before it started having issues the huma beat it by a good amount. I wasnt sure if I wanted to put the huma in since my factory one performed well and I could just rebuild it cheaper but after jumping all in and getting the huma I was happy I did.

I went ahead am prematurely put a Huma reg in my new R10. I was ordering some othe odds and ends for it and had some extra 'wife don't know about it money' sitting around so I got one. Seems to work well. That said I had to remove the factory reg to install the Huma. Re-sealing the factory reg would be super simple. Just not much to it. Watch the XTX videos.
