BSA R-10 alterations

i'm sure this came up years ago. but i was asked about converting my R 10 with the long barrel to a more carbine length barrel and shroud assembly. apparently many BSA fans have been doing this for years. changing bottle sizes, shortening barrels and shrouds or swapping shrouds for after market mods to give gun more tactical look. where can one find ideas or necessary parts?
 
There has been a post not that long ago about someone trying to sell his R10 and since there was no interest he chopped the barrel and it was a rather neat looking gun sort of like a sawed off shotgun if you do a search.

I think a BSA Ultra barrel would be a good start rather than chopping the factory barrel in case you wanted to go back to the normal length.

Like Coldair said, I would get a BSA Ultra or Scorpion barrel (if you want a 15" barrel) from Knibbs and a Huub shroud from Xtx air. Darren at Xtx air may even have a barrel for you as well so you can buy both in the same place. The Huub shroud works very well (a lot better than the Oem shroud) and is easy to install. They are in the UK but when I ordered my shroud it got here in about a week, super fast. FYI, Xtx has lots of other BSA goodies too.

BSA barrels are very hard to come by these days as the factory will no longer sell them. They are out of stock everywhere I have looked as I was.thinking of a similar swap.

I would guess to check Gamo USA for the Urban barrel if you wanted to chop it but at the breech end and do a redo.

Being that it is a $229 wholesale gun I can't imagine the BSA barrel on that one too expensive?

i don't really mind the length, it is just that if i want to sell down the road, carbine length is more desireable for most. i just want it more quiet. i went for the huub shroud from xtair, so when it arrives we will see how it works.
