BSA Meteor Black Doff 30$, is it a steal?

I found a BSA Meteor from someone selling it on my local marketplace.

Says it's still working perfectly. What do I need to restore this gun? It looks good and is very cheap for its price! Also, is it a steal?

I think I would not get that one, the barrel could be rusty inside, the rust on the outside of the barrel is a bad sign. Without being able to look down the bore to see if the rifling is good you might be throwing your money away. $30 for that gun is probably a fair price, not a steal. For your first gun I recommend you get one in good condition-you will have enough to do learning to shoot well without having to rebuild the gun to get started. Keep looking!

Buy it! Being as you are not in the U.S. ready willing and able to spend a bunch of cash on any ole airgun you might like I say grab it fast.

Was a pretty darn fine airgun and one way or another it might (hopefully) be so again.. Parts can still be obtained but you really do need to see exactly what condition it is in ( buy anyway).

Never tried this on an airgun and naturally you would still polish the barrel bore - chrome polish or ???- , were the crown ruined remember you only need 10" or so.
