Just noticed this thread. I have the scope in question and quite like it. I have it on a .22 Marauder it's worked great so far. Probably 300 or 400 shots fired so far. I've used it up to 50 yards very successfully.
FFP is REALLY NICE. No remembering to set at 10x or such. The reticle grows and shrinks with magnification. Really nice
Glass is clear and works extremely well for my needs. Haven't used much as dusk, but seems clear and bright as the sun goes down. Reticle is clear and crisp.
It''s similar to the Primary Arms and half dozen other 4-14x44 scopes out there right now. I think it would work extremely well with a .25 Cal. After all, it was designed for powder burners, so the minor recoil of the .25 PCP really isn't an issue.
It was a Midway USA Special and last I heard they were out, so unless you have a different source, no way to get a new one. Sometimes you can find them on eBay, but beware of counterfeits. eBay is terrible on that. looks like virtually every Zeiss scope is a fake.
It is currently my primary scope, however, since I'm pushing shooting out further to 75 and 100 yards, I currently have a BSA 6-24x installed, and it is a much inferior scope. It has higher magnification, but just isn't as clear and is SFP. Working with it, but may go back to the FFP and lower magnification for my sanity.
The Primary Arms version gets high marks and is (as of today) available from Primary Arms on eBay.
Good luck
