I have a Dreamtac Compact. The side lever on that is the nicest I've used on anything but it's a different type of gun IMO. The Dreamline is a full size rifle too. You're paying for a short rifle and not many other options for under 33 inches
I had an Ultra SE and still have my DTC while you are right that they are very different guns but both are short rifles with different stock/feel at the end of the day. The DTC is night and day more modern with more features even compared to the CLX, only leg up BSA has is the short classic rifle stock. Had they kept the price the same old 599 or even 650 I would have bought one but 850 is a bit much for basically nostalgia. They supposedly simplified the gun and greatly reduced the number of parts which in turn should be cheaper to produce but instead they jacked up the price by $250 or 40%? I get there is inflation and all that but 40% increase in price without adding any additional value is puzzling to me, at the very least add a regulator and free floating hammer. It's like finding out the new ford F150 is 40% more expensive without any new tangible features while reducing number of parts so it's cheaper to make. Last time I checked the inflation isn't that bad yet.
Plus I looked into the new design diagram it looks like a copy of the S200/CZ200 just with their barrel and mag in their block. I might be wrong but it sure doesn't look like they spent a lot of time creating a new modern/innovative design, instead they outsourced to CZ and trying to pocket more money with less work. I could be wrong on the out sourced part but the design certainly isn't anything new at all.
I thought about doing this to my DTC but I like the Power wheel a bit too much.......
fortunately for me I have a S200 and this to hold me over while I think about it.
