I bought this .22 Cyclone in 2005. At the time, Pyramid carried this unshrouded version with a thicker barrel diameter than standard. This rifle ended up taking the place of several other PCP's (FX G8R, Tarantula and a little Falcon FN12). The fact that it was relatively short, light and had the three repeatable power levels made it perfect for my needs. I had permission to shoot a couple of local dairy farms for pest birds (pigeon, starling, English sparrow) and most of my shooting was pesting. I was active on the old Yellow forum but haven't done much shooting over the last 7-8 years due to pesky things like frequent business travel, kids are older and life in general.
So after all these years, I broke out the old girl for some back yard groups. I picked up an AccuTac bipod and am having a blast. I have 45 yards in the back yard and shoot off an old homemade bench (black and decker workmate w/plywood top). Rifle is a .22 Cyclone w/a Bushnell Legend 5-15 x 40 mildot shooting 16g JSB's. The CF tank still had air and the rifle still holds air like a champ. I went through a leaky phase a while back and replaced a bunch of O rings to solve the problem. Some of you may remember Jack F. from the yellow forum who made these carbon fiber LDC's. They work amazingly well so the Cyclone is very back yard friendly.
Range:
Rifle was still zero'd at 35 yards so once I figured out my mildot holdovers for medium power (22 ft lbs), I was able to shoot some decent groups. The circled row were all 8 shot groups off the bench using the bipod. I had so much fun burning through a few tins. Headed over to fill the tank at the local Scuba shop now.
