Brocock sniper HP UPDATED hammer spring and cap question

I picked up this Bantam sniper HP Patagonia here used and shot it Sunday. I would get 5 great pellets stacking at 50 then 2 pellets would just be 2 inches low...I was shooting out of a magazine so I have not tried the SST. So I am not sure if it is a bad mag or not.....I thought maybe the hammer was gummed up so i took the rifle apart and this is what I Found. It appears you have to take the hammer spring cap off to adjust the hammer because the locking screw is inside the frame of the rifle....Is this a big issue? Do I need to get a new one? I did read a post where a person was told by AOA to just turn the hammer screw, but you can't without taking it out of the rifle and loosening the screw...I hope the threads will be OK......Hell I hope this makes sense..

I was shooting the JSB redesign monsters at 890. If anybody has a good tune for this pellet please let me know....

OH! Forgot THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!

What did the SELLER have to say after you followed through POST-SALE and called him up to ask why it's shooting terrible like that? Was it shooting like this all the time?

What did he say? Inquiring minds really want to know.

Did he screw you on the sale so you just had to take the gun apart and post this question here?

The breach area on my Bantam Sniper HR .22 is wide enough to single load from either side. I don’t use the SST. My best 100 yard, five shot group was shot from the magazine. I’ve been shooting my Bantam as it came out the box a year now. For most of my target shooting I single load. For pesting I use the magazines, some have had issues with their mags. After many pellets down range I would get something similar to your results, not as drastic though. I would stack three shots at 40 or 50 yards and then two more just outside the group, consistently. In my case cleaning the barrel solved the issue.

Spent a lot of time on this rifle today. Took off the barrel and polished and cleaned it. Boy was it dirty after all !!! Then I talked to Mike (Centercut) on how to tune it....this took me over 2 hours and about 100 pellets, but I think I got it. I left the rifle right at 881....I shot 5 881’s straight and figured I was good. Turned it down to level 2 and shot 18 grain JSB with a low of 884 and high 895 with a standard deviation of 4.6

Now I need more pellets to arrive so I can hit the range. I have about 20 RD Monsters left so maybe I will see if I can get sighted in at 50 yards.
