So, after months of research and going back and forth, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased my second PCP (Cayden was first).
I wanted something lighter and not as long for hunting. The Concept XR won me over (Thanks to all the You Tube guys who made review video's, I watched them many times over)
The Brocock reputation swung me over, along with the design of the gun, I'm not a big bulbous bottle fan, so the slim line tube air reservoir was what I leaned towards.
I'm an AR guy, I've got so much time on them that they are just a natural favorite for me, and this one has that style. I like a wood gun, but for Hunting, I want something I can bang around and not worry about dinging or scratching the wood.
I purchased this from Mundilar Airguns in Portugal. They had a fantastic price and even with the UPS shipping (Which left on the 18th and arrived today). No one had any in stock in the .22 Cal I wanted, and I emailed Mundilar to check to insure this was a full power Airgun, they were responsive and great to deal with, I can recommend them with no reservations.
It was double boxed and had plastic banding straps around both sides. Showed up in perfect condition.
The gun felt great, solid and well built. The lever action on it is fantastic. very effortless to cock. It did come with the older style Magazine, which I'm fine with. One nice surprise...it came with a folding stock. I had not expected that at all.
The trigger initially out of the box is pretty good. I do not have a trigger pull weight scale, but if I had to guess, the second stage is around 1.5 lbs. I know some of the folks who have them were a bit disappointed with the triggers initially, but for a hunting gun, I think it's pretty good, and I've seen enough info on how to adjust it, and later down the road, I may disassemble the trigger and do some stoning on the engagement surfaces, but for now, I'll leave it alone.
I did remove the barrel shroud and preceded to clean out the barrel with a pull rope and some patches of Ballistol. Surprisingly, the patches were not that dirty. So I pulled some clean and dry ones thru and re-installed the shroud.
I just put my scope on it (I chose a Veyron 3-12 SFP) with adjustable height mounts that work on the Dovetail.
I may replace the stock with a SOPMOD AR stock as I'm a big fan of those, and the added weight may make it balance better, too soon to tell.
The Pistol grip that comes with it is fine, but I may change that up too. but for now, I'll leave it.
I tried the lever safety and while I've never been a fan of that type of safety, close to the trigger, but upon trying it, it's actually not bad at all. The motion to disengage is actually not as horrid as I initially thought. Re-engaging it, you have to either come around the front side, or use your none firing hand to place it back on safe. Not great...not terrible, I would prefer the AR style selector switch, but I can live with it.
I also chose this model as I like and wanted the Pic rails. Again, it's back to my comfort with rails and the ability to customize. I want to add a sling to this and have a rail on the front will allow be to add a QD point for my sling. Unused portions of the rail will get my favorite rail covers (Magpul Type 2 covers). I can also add a Bipod for a day at the range for a little more precision, and I can also add a light if I want to do a little night varmint hunting.
Once I finish leveling/mounting the scope and air it up and get an initial zero, I'll add more
