Brocock Bantam - Upgrades???

Hi all!

I am a powder burner shooter that is new to the airgun scene. I got into airguns as I have a desert wash behind me that allows me to shoot out to 200+ yards, right from my backyard! Being in the state of AZ, I can't shoot powder burners at this location, so a friend how is big into airguns clued me into this deep rabbit hole of a sport.

I bought a Brocock Bantam in .25 from AoA, and have put on an Athlon Ares 6-24 ffp scope, a DonnyFL Ronin, as well as Sig Romeo3 red dot sight offset mounted for the close up pack rat shots that are commonly available at night. I have a Harris 6-9 bipod with KMW pod-loc coming, as well as an Air Venturi Nomad compressor for refills.

My goal is to take this airgun out to 200+ yards. This will be a great tool for practicing the fundamentals and wind reading. I have taken my powder burners out to 2,200 yards with the goal of getting to 3,000 yards, so I love to push the ballistic limits.

With that said, are there any available mods or tunes to be done to the Brocock Bantam to make it a more capable long distance machine? Aftermarket regulator? Anything else worth considering? Or should I just be content and leave it at is?

Also, anyone have any experience shooting slugs from a Bantam?

Thanks in advanced - really excited to be a part of this shooting community!

However, Alteros makes a regulator for the Bantam. No tools needed. It just screws together hand tight. It can be customized for power at the manufacturer. If you decide to get one get it on EBay and search the web for a 10 to 20% coupon.

I'll take a look into this - thanks for the heads up! Does anyone have personal experience with these regulators? Especially on the Bantam?

I have the .25 Cal Bantam, and I recently picked up the Altaros Regulator. I need to fire mine on a chronograph a few tank fulls and plot the data, after that I can set the regulator pressure and install it. Sorry, it will be minute, work is crazy right now.

Huub at Huma Air makes an inline regulator specifically for this model, this would bring consistency and allow reg adjustment, however without knowing plenum limitations, hammer spring info, hammer weight , porting sizes and or starting to mess with a longer barrel, it becomes a case of maybe too much too late...Far better to keep the Bantam (a great gun) as is, with maybe just the addition of a regulator...Otherwise for the cost it is better to buy a gun that better matches your end goals...
