Tuning Brocock Bantam trigger

I have 2 Bantams one is a 25 and one is a 177...The 25 has a great trigger, but the 177 has a lot of gritty movement before the second stage release...Has anybody taken one of these triggers apart? Feels like sear is going across sandpaper...

Have you adjusted the trigger? If you're feeling that much creep, you might need only screw the rear adjustment screw in for a more shallow sear engagement. That's a relatively basic trigger, not a heck of a lot you can do. If a finer adjustment doesn't help, you can disassemble and polish the bearing surfaces, might help.

That took most of the gritty feeling out. Too far wouldn’t cock...got it as good as it will be with a safe trigger. One day might have to take apart and polish some surfaces....will look for a video on that.

Have you shot it enough to break it in? It should get better in time with enough shooting.

I believe you can get your trigger as good as your other rifle with some simple polishing. It is a very basic trigger, and the design geometry does not accommodate a light pull. If you start cutting or grinding parts, you can quickly get beyond the design parameters.

igolfat8..........Thanks for the link...That is what I was looking for...No cutting for me just a break down of where to polish....Felt wheel and flitz.
