Brocock Bantam Regulator and Tuning question.

I purchased a Brocock Bantam in .25 cal. and have a couple questions. First, I've only shot a couple mags through it and haven't really zero'd the scope yet so I still need to get it dialed in at stock settings.

I've purchased three new items: Cheap China Compressor, Altaros Regulator, and LabRadar Chrono with Microphone (free battery from LabRadar).

1. Compressor - Seems to work, need to break it in and start using it.
2. Altaros Regulator - Still in the tube (Huma wasn't available for .25's)
3. LabRadar - Will arrive 10-25-18

The Plan:

Once the LabRadar comes in, take a day to shot and record data in stock trim. Find where the curve smooths out, set Altaros regulator for that pressure and install it. Shoot strings for that setup checking accuracy. Adjust trigger to comfortable pull. Plot data, seek advice on tuning.

My Bantam came with an aluminum bottle. I believe I read somewhere that if you put a regulator on you could switch out or fill to the working bottle pressure which may be higher than the stamp on the side. Is that true and if so could I replace the Aluminum bottle with a 4500 PSI bottle to get a higher shot count?

Smitty... rather than go through so many modifications and buying aftermarket parts... perhaps consider just buying a Bantam Sniper HR in .25 cal and you're ALL set right from the get-go, with easy-to-tune hammer tension, easy-to-tune Huma regulator, 480cc CF bottle, twin pressure gauges - one for the bottle and one for the Huma reg! All with 3 years of warranty coverage.

DHart,

I thought about that but the Sniper was like $1,400.00 to get a regulator and the 480cc CF Bottle. I'm into my Bantam for $700.00, $150.00 for the Regulator, so $850 total (does not include scope or mounts of course). So if I had to sell it used, I'd get less than that and have to add $500.00ish to get to the Sniper, not that I shouldn't have waited but still. I have the Red Wolf also, but the Bantam will be my pesting rifle.

That will work great. And I fully understand that the budget certainly has an important voice in these decisions.

Show us some pics when you get her done! (I had a Bantam Beech Hi-Lite .25 cal for awhile -my first PCP- and really enjoyed the gun, it was very good shooter and slammed pellets into pests like a freight train! No regulator in mine.)
