In order to adjust the striker in the hammer it is necessary to remove a screw under the rifle to remove the cover that holds in the hammer spring. Loosen a set screw in the hammer and, insert an allen wrench to adjust the striker. Why not drill a hole in the cover to permit adjustment without removing the cover/cap? Have any of you made this modification? It sure would make tuning easier?

That's what i did with my compatto, drilled a hole for a ball driver, still need to loosen the stock screw to raise the action!

Any idea what the factory setting for the striker is?

I sure dont, kind of remember reading were each gun is different??? Ive messed with mine so much I'm lost lol different springs, in and out on the striker, etc...

Me too. I even put a spacer under the hammer spring cap before I figured out how to adjust the speed. I just found out mine really likes the JSB old style Monster pellets.

I put a huma in mine not to long ago, have not shot it much but i can tell its wasting to much air with the extra burp i hear with each shot!!! It likes the jsb 18s and is very accurate!

I used an in-line Alteros regulator. Mine is a bottle gun. Also made a moderator from a piece of Marauder shroud about 5 inches long to make it a bit more quiet.

I have a Compatto also and was toying with the idea of a regulator to increase shot count. Do you think that with the proper adjustment, you will get a significant increase in shots per fill?

Make sure you can get the cylinder apart before purchasing the regulator. I had a Compatto and couldn't not get it apart. I think they torque them to a coupe hundred ftlbs.

At this point i dont think i gained anything, but i haven't really had the time to mess with it.

Mine came apart easily, and went back together finger tight. I put the dowdy washer next to the block to get everything to line up. If you buy it on ebay look for a coupon. They usually run from 10 to 20%. I got 15. It paid for the shipping.

I know a guy in Ohio that says he gets over 200 shots with the Alteros in-line regulator. But, I'm still messing with mine. If I can get 70 good shots (enough for a match) it will be all I need to get out of it.
