BRK Pathfinder and Ranger XR - IWA 2023

So I emailed AOA to get pricing and availability. The first run is supposed to be here in April, but a limited amount. Price is $1795. That’s taken me out of the game. $300 more than the ranger package they’re currently offering, and the only difference being the bottle. Not worth it imo.
After hearing how many shots per fill @L.Leon is getting on his atomic, I think a ranger will do just fine.
Well that and about 5 fpe more

Yes, but you’re giving up a lighter, more svelte package… The Pathfinder is sweet, but has the same “stack height” as the Bantams, and the Commander. So to me the Atomic and Rangers are much sweeter, smaller packages.

I've been looking at the Atomic/Ranger, but shot count has held me back. This interests me much more.
If you’re a plinker and I am then maybe airing up after 30 shots might be too much for some. But for pesting? Unless you’re in an intense pesting environment. Thirty shots is plenty, even allowing for gasp! Misses. I bring my hand pump with, but have yet to use it while out. Heck a dozen starlings at a time is what I’ve been taking while pesting. 45-50 pumps for 30 shots, easy peasy… That said, the Pathfinder is sweet, and in a high pesting environment? Killer.🙀

I’ve been looking more into the atomic/ranger platform recently. Im leaning more towards the ranger for it’s folding stock and pic rails, but the “we the plinkers” package AOA is doing is quite the deal!
I like the gotchu iguana ranger deal too, but I don’t think it comes with a scops, even though it’s pictured with one.

Stay away from the Atomic XR, once mine arrived, the little beast lorded over my other PCPs. From 25 to 50 yards it could keep up, my other PCPs just languished. So I traded them in for the Plinkers Package with zero regrets. I’ve fallen in love with the small sweet guns, I do plenty of incidental heavy lifting at home and work. For fun? I just don’t have to. I fondle my Atomic XR almost everyday, she is a needy beastie and I’m still thrilled to hold her.

Just did a little dockduckgo, seem to be trucks and SUV with that name, but i was thinking military hardware and branch of the US armed forces.

As i recall a Dane from our own Jaegers special forces graduated Ranger course with distinction back in the old days ( decades ago )
His book on the experience, well lets just say Ranger course are no walk in the park, hence why we send our boys CUZ we like to play witn real MEN and not schoolkids.

My mind doing background tasks, seem to have had a problem with Pathfinder, CUZ the name have been coming and going for a few hours in my grey goo between the ears..
TBH what i thought off was probably the Mars pathfinder mission, i suddenly recalled.

Could also be there have been some military hardware pathfinder stuff going on, cant be bothered with hitting up the internet.

It just struck me, with the naming scheme ( Pathfinder & Ranger ) the Brits do seem to cater for the US market.
So I was watching a YouTube review of the Ranger by alpha militaria (British reviewer), and he said that the Ranger got its name from an individual who asked Brocock for a gun that was easy to carry in a pack and light to use on grey squirrels in an area of England where they’re trying to repopulate with red squirrels. He is a park ranger, hence the name.

@L.Leon so this means you have both an externally adjustable hammer spring like on the Ranger / Atomic (Ranger gets first billing since I own one ;) ) along with an externally adjustable regulator?
The way you put your Ranger XR to work? It deserves that first billing… Looking forward to the Pathfinder…
