BRK at IWA 2023

The company stuck with the name for 30 years, it was based on the English name for what you Americans call a rooster, indeed the original logo featured a Rooster/Cock and i didn’t work out the slang version myself until 10 years ago when CD Europe took over the company and we saw a huge quote for the .com! It’s more of an issue in USA than anywhere else, UK shooters have to be pointed out the funny. But if it puts people from buying the guns or it embarrass owners (which the company most definitely do not want to happen) then the option BRK is there - note that Brocock is still in the logo. Do they have stickers or patches? Would love to rock some on my gun case, just to stir the pot and hear the giggles🤭

I’ve heard plenty of people complain about the name. More people care about looks than you think and removing the “cock” from the rifle is a good thing IMO.
Care about “looks” because the Brococks definitely look “good”. The discomforted are always going to be just that. And if you can’t “cock” your rifle? How the heck are you going to send rounds? By throwing them? The word “cock” is just that, a word. Means rooster by the way. For the juvenile? It means all kinds of childish, silly things. The childish and silly? Are probably not shooters anyway, and probably not a market for BRK Brocock.

You’d be surprised how many people won’t buy something because of a silly name or other seemingly trivial things. BRK is trying to market to a wider audience so they made a smart business decision to appeal to more people.

Not arguing . The easily offended aren’t typically shooters, it doesn’t go “hand in hand”. I’m sure exceptions apply. Not arguing “business decisions” those who are offended by a name, that is a legitimate thing? Would buy some other shiny object anyway. Who buys a gun because of its name? I sure don’t.

I seriously doubt that anyone would not buy a Brocock based on the name. My Sniper XR is a fantastic rifle. That being said, yes, the name does warrant a chuckle here across the pond.
Yes, I chuckle every time I smoke a pest or shoot sweet groups with my Brococks. There, I said it. Brocock, Brocock, Brocock!!! Hope I didn’t cause any here in America to gasp and faint.🙀🤓🙈😜
