Break Barrel Breech Replacement

My first post hope it is in the right place.

I have a Gamo Raptor Whisper, break barrel, 22cal; Nice gun after I deburred it, replaced the gas spring and piston seal. I now would like to replace the breech; it has an impression in it of a small trapezoid imprinting itself on the seal and cracking it. My questions are: what do buy where to buy and how do I remove and reinstall.

What I see as a removal is to insert a rod into the opening in the breach possible a coat hanger and pull it out. To reinstall I am not sure, assuming to guide it back in with a rod roughly the same size as the breech air hole, so it doesn’t miss align.

Go to Harbor Freight and get yourself a small pick set. They're super cheap ($0.99) and you'll be suprised how handy they come in around the house. Every toolbox should have a set.

Sorry about that it does not clarify. I want to remove the breech not the breech seal. I can’t imagine another name for it. SEE PICTURE.

Ok , he has the wrong gun name..

That is the breech plug that fits a cfr or gamo underleaver gun.

But youd think here somewhere or post at gta for maybe ol tom cat may know..

I seen some gamo underleaver guys there that may chime in and know

Hi,
Sorry for the delay. The breech for the Gamo CFX & CFR I'm sure will work .
My gun is a Gamo Raptor Whisper with IGT technology. See Attached PDF.

The drawing is only meant to show what I would like to replace which is the cylinder breech.
Removing it I can see just pushing out, but how would you guide it back in, making sure the holes
line up.
The only thing at present is just use string...

I dont know looking down the tube inside ot looks welded in .. on my whisper fusion.. ive never known that part to be removable or replaceable...

That underlever maybe due its also the loading tray
As seen here

Outside not a underlever. Ive never seen that animal from gamo break barrels

Thanks Mo-Ron for your reply.

The reason for asking I was watching a video looking in to how to remove this breech. The video showed a springier being disassembly and towards the end of the video the breech was sitting there on the table, but with no clue how to remove it. Now I was unaware the underlever gun in which this one could have been and would explain why he didn’t show the removal of the breech.

I going to keep looking because my cylinder breech is messed up, it damaged a new piston seal, see attached picture. The damage was caused by the Gamo piston seal breaking up in the compression chamber, damaging the breech intern damaging my new piston seal. It amazes me the poor workmanship that goes in to Gamo guns…

I understand your point looking down into the air chamber it doesn’t seem possible to replace, but if it goes in, it has to come out “that’s what she said”.

That s strange ,. Like the piston stroke is to long and the piston slams .. you onow my gamo i use now may of got that happing bit in like 4 years of shooting it i noticed a bit of power loss.

So i pulled it apart and my seal had a chunk just about the same placement at the piston button. Hmmmmm.. that picture is interesting.. sadly ot once he 33mm piston and c.a.s in Australia os the only place i know to sell one. I just cleaned ot relubed it and reassemble it and still shoot fine .. it was a after the fact and kinda wished id took it apart for inspection onve a year now but thats water under the bridge now.. even with the seal damaged she still lays the smack down and nails what i aim at , so oh well .. i dont get why c.a.s sells stuff on amazon and ebay but not that 33mm seal in the usa ,go figure ..

Mines a gas ram but maybe if yours is a spring you may find a way to shorten the stroke or piston travel just a mm or 2 to resolve ?

Then maybe thats normal gamo thing and you just let it bob till she drops then put another seal in and repeat..?

Look here under Parachute seals .

same marks i seen a gew more examples looking so not so uncommon i guess to happen in any brand i guess.

Another shows one pretty hammered

So it caused by not enugh back pressure to cushion/stop by he piston at the end of the travel (?).
