Thinking about PCP BR, no competition just for my own enjoyment of trying to put them all in one hole at 30-75 yards. Have a BR scope, a front rest and rear bags. I considered a Benjerman Challenger as a starter rifle. But they come with expensive sights, and I don't need them, and I find nothing used. I already have a M-Rod Field and Target, is there anything else I should look at? My funds are not unlimited.

Hi @WNYBill . Lots of inexpensive guns will do hole in hole at 30Y but when you stretch out the distance then quality gun (barrels) matter more. Wind often plays a larger role than the gun plays so focus on learning to read the wind first with the gun and equipment that you have. Some folks are always blaming equipment and pellet fliers when it could very well be the wind? Spend some money on a good set of flags. Watch them diligently, shoot and learn. Lobbing lead is futile without understanding the wind.
If you are referring to a https://www.crosman.com/product/crosman-challenger/ then yes they are VERY accurate (INDOORS) shooting at 10M for what they were designed for. Outdoors, not so much.

you want to shoot great ! ? learn breathing , relaxing , hold on the gun and practice this every time you squeeze the trigger . and the wind thing igoat8 said .
what i do . take in a slow breath / exhale the same slow timing / inhale /exhale /squeeze when your lungs are empty . Lets use numbers 1,2,3 lungs are full 123 empty , repeat only this time on exhale. inhale /exhale 1 ,2 lung half empty first stage trigger 3 when lung is empty release the shot . .

Like they said above! Depending on ones budget will dictate what airguns will be available for you to ponder. Factor in a compressor and or a tank, ammo and maybe a scope. Purchasing used hopefully like new will save you some money. Welcome and have fun!

I shoot informal benchrest using a one or two piece rest and my rifle with a 3” flat forensic adapter. I shoot using free recoil technique. It’s very accurate and less for the shooter to screw up but it’s a little slower.
Get some wind flags you’ll be pissin into the wind without them.
If you’re shooting longer range in competition you may need to shoot sighters and rapidly use that wind drift to shoot a couple shots for score before the wind changes, then shooting from a bipod makes more sense. You’ll probably want a scope with some tree style reticle to make it visually easier.
Regardless you’ll want a heavy sturdy bench.
Get some wind flags you’ll be pissin into the wind without them.

And shoot with both eyes open so your non shooting eye catches the tail flitters. Arrange your flags so you can see them all at the same time.

He is here at OG every day ~7:30 until 11:00 hammering the cards, learning minuscule wind changes and tweaking his system seeking the best of his equipment and himself. Shoot groups but then shoot targets and score them. You cannot improve unless you measure your performance. Make notes as you go, it's easy to forget what you did. Shoot a lot and keep at it!

I believe you pretty much answered your own question. You want to simply enjoy yourself. You have most of the equipment and funds are limited, so the rifle is what you need do your research for what you can afford and enjoy. If you get the itch to improve then like anything else its time and money..
If you can shoot with someone with experience that always helps but find most will not take the advice given. Folks are always searching for one hole groups and do not understand the time, money and patience to just shoot a few here and there especially with a "Factory" PCP..
You can purchase or make some type of wind indicators which feel is one of the important factors to help with your one hole groups, but and a big but if you have a rifle that doesn't shoot well those flags are useless and will confuse the living heck out of you.
Take you time and enjoy researching.
