does anyone know if this is a straight screw on replacement or do I
have to make modifications?

Thinking about ordering this stock for my Gen 1 marauder,

Straight replacement...no mods required. I bought a used Marauder recently that is equipped with a Boyd's stock and the only problem is that it makes me want to buy a custom laminated stock for every gun I own.

I have one of those and a Boyds Blaster which came without inleting but a good woodworker on this forum inlet it for me. The Blaster is my favorite over the other. I modified the one you showed to make it usable thumb through or thumb up like the Blaster is.

Boyd's will inlet it if they have a copy of the rifle/Air rifle. Very good work for the money.

The Gen 2 Marauder I sold had that stock. It was a drop in. The only thing I would have preferred was a higher comb. But I had to use high scope rings to accommodate a large objective, so that probably exasperated the issue

My black lam is collecting dust for the same reason. It's more of a chin riser than a cheek riser. I even went so far as to try low rings and a 32mm objective and I still not happy with it at all. I also tried a cheek riser sleeve and need at least 1" to make it work with a 40mm scope.

Boyd's Pro Varmint for the Marauder has an adjustable comb available, although it's a $60.00 upgrade. The gun I recently purchased came with this, and I like it very much. The thumbhole version you are looking at does not offer this option because of how deeply the stock is contoured to allow for the thumbhole.
