Bottom of stock protectors

I shoot off different surfaces where I sit the bottom of stock and grip down on things like tree stumps, brick, rock etc.

Anyone use felt tape or some other means to protect this area?

I use the Grey Rubberized 2" 3M traction tape on all such surfaces. easily cut to custom contour / shapes and can be removed w/o damaging finish or leaving sticky glue behind.

Have it applied to near every Air gun owned. * Note Fore stock and under Butt stock.

I really like the tape. Be careful if you order 3m from Amazon. When mine arrived it is not rubberized it is like sandpaper. With my sling on I find I can use it as a pad also. I still plan to use the tape but need to see and feel it before I buy.

The stuff I linked is rubberized. I own both. The roll from Safe-Way is a better deal if you want to do multiple guns. Make sure the stock is clean and oil free. Use a hair dryer when applying, it helps with forming to contours and adhesion.

Well I ended up with a couple small sheets of Talon rubberized grips. I wanted something that would at least semi blend in and not stand out so much.

The bottom of grip has a felt furniture pad on it.

the powder burners short range benchrest guys use a clear tape on the underside of the rear portion of the stock

magically called stock tape and is about 10 bucks to your door in the USA

I looked for clear butt none of the ones I found where what I call clear more white looking.
