On my 'bottle guns', the bottles have female threading and the guns are male threaded: FX, Epic & Gauntlet 1.

This is a Gauntlet bottle... clearly a male fitting. Is yours modified? Is the Gauntlet 1 different?

The adapter is male but your actual bottle has female threads.

I posted after looking at the bottles without concideration of how the bottle actually attaches to the rifle. With that I mis-wrote as the Gauntlet 1 rifle has a female fitting that attaches to the male fitting regulator which attached to a male necked bottle via the regulator female appature. Sorry for any confusion.

My bad as well.. I assumed OP was referring the connection at the gun's block.
