FX Boss trigger

Ok, I've been a gunsmith for a long, long time, both powder burners and airguns. I've tuned, many hundreds of triggers over the years. ONE TRIGGER, ONE TRIGGER has been the bain of my existence. The Boss trigger.
I've tried before and didn't finish the task, to put one from parts in a Crown. I know how it goes together and how it is SUPPOSED to work, but could never get it done.

I'm restarting from scratch, so anyone who has any ideas, I'm going to put the Boss in my Crown.

Please let me know any ideas and help you can.

I've had the same experience. WHY they made that trigger needlessly complicated I'll never understand. For the 1st 5 years I owned my Boss it was perfect. Then I installed a Huma reg & after reassembling the trigger wasn't what it was before. Spent 3 hours trying to get it back to where it was but no joy. For every adjustment screw turned, the other 2 have to be balanced out. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, just not as perfect as before. Even contemplated putting a Royale trigger in it but gotten used to it over time? I LOVE my Royale 500's trigger. What EXACTLY is causing you problems? 1st stage? 2nd? Sensitivity?

Thanks for the help........there's more to the story.
The rest of the story.
Previous attempts to install the Boss trigger was one I had ordered a long time ago, then got frustrated and sold the trigger.

Current attempts were using a "Crown Match Trigger" (same trigger, different name) ordered from Krale. Turns out I didn't get all the parts with previous trigger and I could have worked for a year and never got it to work.

After looking over an online diagram, and some photos, I put the trigger together and installed it. Took some minor adjustments and HOLY COW! It worked. I now have it all loctite'd up and drying. I have only tried it with finger pressure against the hammer spring but, it is light, crisp and very clean, two stage trigger.

We'll see how truly light it is once everything is all back together, but it seems super. At least I got it working correctly. Amazing how having all the right parts makes all the difference in the world!

I'm new to the forum, not sure how to send a PM, so i'll ask you here. Can/will you do trigger work on an Umarex M29? The trigger pull is very heavy and i'd like to have it reduced.

Thanks.

Yeah, starting with a bag of loose parts and no instructions was daunting. I found an Ernest Rowe video that helped, but it was still a challenge. IMO, any version of the FX trigger that uses the trigger roll design (which is all) is going to be less than perfect. The Boss match trigger adds a lever that gives the geometry some additional leverage, which helps with the let-off weight, but I could never attain a feel that is comparable to a good match trigger of more conventional design. I switch back and forth in my Royale between the standard and match triggers. Honestly, for general field and plinking use, I probably prefer the standard trigger. I've never felt the match trigger in another rifle, so it's possible that my setup isn't perfect. From a manufacturer's perspective, the standard trigger is simple, compact, inexpensive, and can provide a release that is acceptable for most uses. And, it is incrementally improved by the match trigger, so I guess the design deserves some credit, but it's one that I find hard to like.
