Bloody rattus

Went down to the dairy today fairly late about 4 pm. Saw some pigeons on the wire, got to the hay wagon 100 yards away. Dial 12 MOA line up a pigeon facing away, slight breeze from my right. About to send the JSB 18 and they all take off. WTF! A small Red Shouldered hawk landed right on the wire and spooked them. I’m like if you had waited but a moment you would had had a easy meal. But the hawk thought I would miss and took its chances. ;) Shot the sparrow at 40 yards, starling at 35 yards. Missed a pigeon at 54 yards, misjudged for wind. Missed two starlings, shot low. The rat was my best of the day, this sucker was playing hide and seek at 45 yards. All I could see was it’s head for a moment each time. Framed the entrance with my reticle, it showed its head I sent the JSB 18 and watch it expire through the scope. I killed another the same way, but it died into its hole.
