Who uses BlackHound scopes? I never heard of these scopes before. How do they compare to what’s on the market out there? Are they worth the money? Where are a manufactured? I hope not China!!
I've got a 6x24x50 blackhound and so far I like it , but will know more as the weather gets better. Truthfully I've only shot through it may 100 shots from 30 to 50 yards. I haven't stretched it out yet. It's built like a tank so it's a little on the heavy side It's maybe 26ozs .but the weight isn't really an issue because I use a single point sling and shoot off sticks.
I have a 6x24x50 as well. I got it in a trade. The reticle is thicker than I would like at higher magnification. I’m sure it will be a fine hunting scope.
I have three of the 6-24 models , the rest of my scopes are Athlon . The Athlon scopes have better glass and are heavier , I like the recticle of BlackHound much more . Customer service of BlackHound is Great , seriously . The 4-14 BlackHound does not track repeatably , but if you use hold-over it's not an issue . Look at Joe Rhea's reviews .
Been using mine (6-24x50) for over 1 year with absolutely no issues. Shooting 200 yards is well within this scopes ability. Glass is good, built solid. Customer service response time can not be beat by anyone. Submitted a question requested a phone call at 11 pm and had a call within 5 minutes. I love mine!
Currently having a side focus wheel CNC machined for Field Target use. The maker will have more available for sale as well.
I also have the 6-24x50 Genesis and love the scope. It is an excellent hunting scope but the thicker reticle lines and the messy horizontal line makes it hard to use as a target scope. It can be used like how I used it at EBR but after using it, I should've used a different scope with thinner reticle lines. Glass wise, the Genesis is just as clear and crisp at my other 1k+ scope.
I also have the 6-24x50 Genesis mounted on my .457 Texan CF and I love it. Built like a tank, very good turrets with good audible clicks. Very nice Eye relief. Great Scope IMHO
