Birthday thoughts

Today being my 63rd birthday, I started the day with my usual birthday hopefulness. Hoping I'll get at least one thing I wanted, a good meal out of the usual, and no major malfunctions. So far so good, insomuch as the latter is concerned. Dinner and the rest being worked on at the moment. Even my 2nd youngest son smiled at me last night with a kind word. I'm still waiting to get tossed under the bus. With guns stacked all over the man cave, I'm hoping for at least one 5-gun rack. And a display case for my smaller collectible rifle stuff would be beneficial as well. I'll have to wait and see till this evening. Then again when my middle son gets home from work at 11:30PM. Tomorrow I wanna rearrange the man cave one more time to get things righter.

All that aside, If I'd have been told I'd be partially disabled from age 50 on, I'd have said ya got rocks in yer head! I worked harder than I could stand for so long...just to wind up like this? It's been ny on to 15 years since I could lay down to sleep in a bed. Dang, I miss that. Besides with my wife. I wish they'd have mentioned 35+ years ago that walkin' around & workin' on rebar reinforced concrete was bad for anything connected to your spine. Then this county havin' Echeck to mess with me even more.

But, still in all, the family seems to be takin' my birthday more serious this year. I wonder if it's because my daughter's back from SoCal? And I wish I could change this city's mind about shooting air guns in my back yard. That would've been nice. I just wanna hunt and fish again until it's time to go face whatever reward awaits me. But for now, It's birthday time again and all the precious memories that always seem to put a lump in our throats, a tear in our eye, and a smile on our face. May we all be truly blessed for family to share days like these in our lives. Alone we are nothing...save for hurtful, spiteful and lonely. So, in light of that, I am thankful. Now if I could just walk move and stand normal again...

Well Happy Birthday UD. Hope you have a good one and many more. What kind of gun rack were you looking at? Sorry to hear of your disabilities. The effects of manual labor like that will sure show up and slap you in the face at some point. Yesterday was my wife's BD. Got her a card and we went out to eat with the kids last night. Had a good time.

We used to go out after getting a sitter and ordering pizza for them. I basically want a 5-gun wall rack. But I should've started with 8-gun racks. That would've been better. Those disabilities hit me at like 45, but came on gradually until at age 50, with near 31 years seniority, I had to take the buy out and retire.

Happy 63rd. Sorry to hear about the health troubles, the younger folks with good bodies and sound minds never seem to understand how fleeting their health can be. I'll give you a dollar to a dime that many of them will be revisited by the things they put their bodies through today. But you are soooooo right, God and family are about the only things you can count on. Like I always say, be good to your kids … they will be the ones to pick your rest home. Stay chilly my friend … Love, Live and Laugh … It's a short pony ride.

I survived to change from Ford paying the extra amount to SS paying it. So I got that going for me. Here's some pics from last evening;

Lol jking. That reminds me of my 50th birthday Sharon and I laughed about last night. An Opus-n-Bill card that read, " Is it your birthday? Or are you trying to signal an alien civilization in another galaxy?" They put 50 candles on my cake. I blew them out in a quick puff, and a mushroom cloud about a foot in diameter roared into the ceiling! Or the relighting candles on my 40th birthday lol And the ravages of time haven't dampened my spirits. My father always said I reminded him of Teddy Roosevelt. That's why. And the pics and videos will keep coming. Just waiting on USPS in Warrendale, PA to give up my stuff finally. Dang place is a black hole. I'm praying my NOS Crosman 760-BRD, box, papers and all isn't LIA...

...he got me a third(!) 5-gun rack just like the other two. And now it's a year later, and it's my Beatles birthday. I've grown tired, but not loosing much hair at all. So there's that at least. No bottle of wine, beer, or bourbon. Her and her bible-thumpn'. Oh well, it weakens your bones at this point and I have lost weight. Gone from 305 down to 269.2 thus far. Smart scale is a bit too sensitive, but oh well. Play it again, Sam...
