I'm going to try a 45-45-10 mix of stuff that is popular with firearms and see what I get. The 10 is a solvent, so really carnuba and alox, supposed to dry and not be messy to touch, also not to build up in the barrel. We will see eventually (another story I'm not ready to tell here).
I also powder coat which on a good barrel works really well. On a barrel bored out by beavers with dull teeth, nothing helps. Been there, fought that, eventually polished the barrel enough to change the size 0.001 inch and bought a new barrel. Now I'm super picky about the condition of the barrels, everyone should own a cheap borescope, and everyone should hold manufacturers to task on quality. But that's a thread I don't want to bring here (yet).
If the lube works, I may stop powder coating because of the time it takes, at least 20 minutes per batch, but more like 45 with the shaking and oven preheat. A PID control might reduce some time, but still probably 30 minutes per batch, and my batches are around 60 in 0.510 and close to 80 in .357.
