Better option out of the 2???

Getting this tripod & ball head set up.....or the FC-5?

My thought process is this....

The Accu-Tac is obviously a STELLAR bipod!! IMO the best bipod on the market (the Atlas, MDT, Spartan Valhalla and Tier-One's are all amazing as well, but as far as stability I think Accu-Tac is best) It can pan and cant and has a nice wide base. Well worth the money. $400

But the ball head can also move in any direction (and lock anywhere you need it to) it can also be taken off and put on a larger tripod if you need a larger one to hunt with. And this tripod is definitely as sturdy, possibly more so than any bipod. This set up would run around $325-$350

So which set up do you like more.....and why?

pretty sure that's the exact one i have ,,i bought the one STOTI and CENTERCUT and others have ,,awesome choice but i will be gatting a larger tripod also for standing good luck PAT

LOLLLL I was like "Stoti?? Hmm Never heard of that tripod." I googled "Stoti tripods" Nothing came up, so I clicked on Images....and I see a picture of an FX Impact on a tripod....I click on that link....it takes me back here to a thread....FROM STOTI! I was like Ahhhh now I get it!! =)

The Leofoto LS-362C is the perfect one vs LS-283CM and LS-223C. I recommend RRS Anvil 30 and LH-55. I've tried both of LH-40 and LH-55, LH-55 is much better.

Ahhh Damnit, I had to buy one before midnight and went with the 223C. If I don't like it I'll return it and get the 362.

I also got the 55lb ball head, the 66lb seemed like overkill.

Love your set up with the chrono and phone. I was looking at the phone attachment that screw into the side of the tripod, but using the pic rail is nice too.

One question.....I was going to get the Saber or K&L arca swiss rail extension along with the FC-5 Accu-Tac (to really push the balance point as far fwd as possible) Is the extended rail necessary anymore? Or is it better to use the stock pic rail having the tripod centered under the rifle?

If you decide to focus on tripod, since LS-223C is extremely portable, I don't think you need an extended rail for bipod. I will save the money(rail extension and bipod) to upgrade ball head(RRS Anvil 30, LH-55) or tripod(LS-364C). LS-364C has a really good balance of portable, stable, function and cost. It's a better choice than LS-365C.

With saber tactical small adapter, just $30, you are good to go using the Impact stock picatinny rail with most ball head. If you want to attach the real balance point. The K&L Gravity Rail will be your choice. You can attach ball head right under the trigger.

Jerry Thanks for the advice!!! I already cancelled the 1st ball head I ordered and upgraded to the 55

As far as the tripod goes, I am going to see how it looks when I get it but if the 223C isn'rt exactly what I want I will replace it with the 362 (the 364 will be my choice when I need a taller tripod, but this is for table shooting or prone shooting)

I REALLY like K&L's quality. I think I would still go with the full arca rail just in case down the road I want to use a bipod. The ONLY complaint I have about the K&L rail is it's really close to the bottle....aesthetically I wish it was a few mm's lower. I like the spacing of the Saber a little better....but the overall build of the K&L is soooo nice!!

Really appreciate the info/advice!!!

Once you go tripod you don't go back....

A black woman told me that once....but I went back to my Latin chicks =)~

But I feel ya, I think tripods offer a lot more stability. It can do the job of a bipod and a rear monopod

Lol I hear you was just messing around. But seriously like others here I sold my Accu-tac FC-G2 bipod once I got my tripod and all my other bipods also. Now have 2 tripods, one a short table top one and the other a large one for standing/sitting. Wouldn't go back ever again.

UPDATE: I received both the tripod and the ball head today. I love the ball head. It seems plenty sturdy and supports 55lbs. Should be perfect.

But I think I am going to cave and return the 223C and get the 362C - Between the M3, the scope, and every other accessory I'm into this for so much already I may as well spend the few extra dollars and get the tripod I really want. Unfortunately I have been using that philosophy on every part and accessory I've bought...so an extra $100-$200 here and there really adds up fast lol, at least I won't need to upgrade anything for a while.

Who am I kidding I'm already looking at slug liners, and every other possible thing. My gf was like "How much does all this cost" (My uncle used to take me to Belmont Park Horse Track as a kid, and he said "If you aunt asks, I only bet $2 per race") so I remembered that lesson...and I lied right to her face!!' "It was all about $400" =)

Thanks again for the advice.
