BETA Target Frame

Hello everyone,

BETA Target Frame, no this is not the “first born” of a ALPHA Bullet ~ Pellet Trap. However if you are a good enough shot, you can shoot any caliber projectile at it as long as it will fit into a 10-inch square hole. I designed this to be shot in an area where a metal “backstop” is not needed, to accept a 12" x 12" cardboard backing for the Paper Target to be taped onto and to be very mobile. I can shoot any size caliber pellet and 22LR at this without any problems from 10-Meters out to 100-Yards.

Did you consider making the sides U shaped or slotted so you could slide a piece of cardboard down into it from the top? Then add a paper spring clip at the top to hold your paper target. No tape required.
Good morning @igolfat8

Tim I have tried that on a couple steel target frames in the past with no luck. Most likely something I did wrong in my design. The cardboard cut just right would stay in place OK, but the Paper Target would flap around in the wind. I live just off Sam Rayburn Lake on the back side of a steep hill and really get weird wind conditions all the time. I have had the paper targets that were tapped down on all four corners get blown off the cardboard more than once  .

I did make one for a friend that the "face plate" was hinged at the Top and the opening cut out of the middle was 7-1/2" x 10" . He would hold the paper target in place and close the face plate which then would capture and hold the target. It didn't work real good most of the time.
