New to forum, and my first post. Which .22 air rifle from wal Mart would be the best choice as a hunting gun. Looking to get one for Grandson. Thinking about the Benjamin.
I went with the Benjamin .22. He is 11 years old. We live in the country, and he is bery familiar with .22 rifles, .410 shotgun, and AR 15, so he has been schooled on gun safety since about 3 when he started shooting. I just am still not ready to turn him loose with a firearm, and will not even let him take this out unless alone, or with me. I know how kids are, used to be one. Im hoping he can take squirrel and rabbit, not too mention pests like pond turtles, birds, and at least harrass ground hogs. Thanks for any and all input.
The only thing to be aware of with the Crosman/Benjamin is that the regular NP takes over 40 lbs to cock and the Elite NP versions take only 30 lbs to cock. Power output is nearly the same. Also remember the Crosman barrels take 700 shots to fully break in. Don't panic if the groups look big right out of the box.
