Best sub 200$ scope Ive seen !!!

I managed to get my hands on one of these scopes shortly after Joe recommended it here. Boy was he right - great optic for the money. Really good clarity at all magnifications, tracks great, holds zero... see, THIS is why I'll never buy a PCP even at the low end of the cost curve. Joe's ruined me for low-cost optics and now I have the 'scope bug' going. Good thing I'm tapped out for the time being, or I'd be out shopping in the $200-$300 range. OY! Can't imagine how deep a PCP hole I'd (I'll??) get into once I buy my first one.

Well my Vector 10x showed up today and again for the price it’s not bad, feels like I could hammer nails with it,the eye releaf is a bit touchy and the turrets are tight and I focused it in looking at the blue sky and the lines all look sharp and then I set the side wheel at 50 yards and looked at a target I threw out on the lake and stoped at 48 yards and no issue at all with the sight picture, I could put it on one of my Marauders or Hatsan’s but I think I’m going to wait until my HMx .357 gets here before I mount it...ya it’s not the lightest scope but for a fixed 10x it’s not bad so far, I will play around with it a bit more and see how the turrets do, it came with a filter, picatinny rings, and two different vertical knobs,1 in Mil and one in cm and it came with a nice rubber lens bra. Here are a few quick pics.

It feels like it’s made for hunting I guess you can say, once I mount it I can see better how it holds zero and check out the eye relief better plus I can bang it around a bit and see how it does with holding zero. I’m liking the Hiram I put on my Wildcat so I’m leaving that on it so it might be a bit until I get around to checking this one out a bit more but from what I can tell it’s definitely going to be my hunting scope for the HMx and if it’s what I want to stay with I might order a SWFA 10x for the RAW later.

Joe, i did a review of the Tac Vector 10-40X50 scope on another forum, in the field target section. I shoot FT competitions using a Styer Sightron rig. I shoot open class on a bum bag but like to support the other classes. I posted the review more geared to the hunter field target class. they can now use 16 powered scopes and the Vector is a good one for the price in my book!
I saw your video after a recommendation from my bud Jimmy Fussell of Camp Fussell here on AGN. He looked at mine and immediately bought one for a new gun he is getting...

Thanks for the video. Here is the info I posted on the scope I bought. Those wanting a good field target side focus will like the scope....A report on a good Scope for field target, Hunter class friendly!I wanted to make folks aware of a scope that I found to be comparable to the Nikko Diamond and Nikko Targetmaster scopes for a MUCH LOWER COST!

It is the Tac Vector 10-40X50 Sentinel sold by Vector optics and Amazon .com.

I needed a scope for my HW97 and, a friend and club member, has a 3-9 Vector on his hog gun. It’s a powder burner 30.06. He stated it was clear and tracked well.

So, I looked Vector up and decided to try the 10-40X50 Sentinel model. I was impressed to say the least.

It is a Chinese made scope and it is a side parallax, and Illuminated. The hunter guys will like it as the entire half mil dot reticle lights up red or green. The illumination is a rheostat and not numbered clicks. Nice to adjust the intensity. It is a 1/8 MOA scope.

The reticle looked too small when I first saw it. The bracket boxes that lead to the reticle seemed too far into the center of the scope. However, on the HW 97at 12 FPE, I had a 6 mil holdover at 55 yards, the reticle has 8 mils and I had 2 full mils left over at that range.

The glass is very clear. Even at 40 it has very little if any hazing. I range on 30 and it is clear there. The elevation and windage knobs are not mushy, and click loud and positively. They also lock in position by pushing down on the knob just like the Nikko’s

Now the good part. It almost ranges like a Nikko! My big Nikko’s are either in or out of focus, Period!
Those who use the Nikko’s believe the same thing I say. It is the best ranging scope for snapping in or out. No movement once in focus, or it goes fuzzy. Not as clear as a Sightron at that power, but the snap is incredible.

This Vector scope is almost as good as the Nikko for snapping in and out. Hunter shooters should like it, as the magnification markings are 10,12,16,18,20,25,etc to 40. so 12 and 18 are on the power ring.

The reticle is fine and glass etched….

It came with a set of real heavy-made rings. No sun shade but with a honey comb cover like the Sightrons from hector to reduce reflection/shade. Flip caps and the like too. Since the front bell is threaded for the cap, A threaded sun shade should be easy to find.

It did not state on Amazon about rings being included with this model, so it was a bonus. In fact, it panned out to be the best rings for the gun it’s mounted on.

Now this is really the best part! The cost is only $169 from Amazon.com with free shipping! $179 from vector direct…

It has a good replacement warranty with it too…

Now the bad. It says it focuses down to 10 Yards, Mine stops at 11. No biggie as I can see the kill zone and use my click for 10 yards and have not missed yet. It’s just is a bit out of focus.
I emailed the company to see if it could be re-parallaxed by them. They responded with, “The features and focus posted are done by the Chinese company and not Vector, Vector could only replace it with a new one, but most likely be the same”. He gave me the address and phone number of the company in China if I needed further assisatance

I have had three club members look through the scope and one bought the scope already and another was going home from our match yesterday and ordering one.

For the quality and price point I am getting another to just have a spare. I don’t know how well it will hold up, so I can’t report on that.

There is a guy on You Tube stating they use Zeiss glass (which I find hard to believe) and his model is a copy of the Schmidt and Bender. It’s You Tube, so I took that with a grain of salt….

Summing up: I find this relatively inexpensive and apparently good quality scope, a great buy for a field target rifle. After I actually try it at a match I will be able to determine it better.

We are all searching for that magical perfect scope for our rifles…Is this the one?

Not in my opinion. But for someone who does not want, or can't afford to buy, a Sightron. Kahles, Schmidt and Bender, March or other high-quality scope, This ups the game in the mid-range $500 Hawke, UTG, and others area. For $169……… great for the money.

I hope anyone who tries this scope will post their opinions good or bad. We need to try to offer suggestions for decent products or ideas here when we find them….

Keep in mind that this is just my opinion for a product I found to be decent…. You will need to make your own opinion
(No I have no investment in Tac Vector)..

Well I just got done shooting 8 mags with my Bullboss with the Vector 10x, my target was set out about 70 yards and I had my side focus set just under 75 yards which gave me a good sight picture on the target and in my book the glass was just fine, I also had the honeycomb sun shade on it being it is sunny out and my target is out on the ice so glaring would of been a issue but the shade worked just fine, I had no problem zeroing the scope in and it held its zero shot after shot, I can say the biggest issue I have is with the eye relief but we are all different, once I got the scope in the right position to where I shoulder it it the same it wasn’t as bad but I’ve seen better but on more expensive scopes, is it bad enough to take it of the Bullboss....No so I’m leaving it on Being I’ll be using this mostly from a bench or Mono Pod walking stick, the turrets are a bit stiff but it’s better then being loose but I think they will get better the more I use them and the eye focus is ok,it’s not going to move once you get it in focus, I did mine looking at the blue sky. My next scope I’ll check out is the SWFA 10x and see how that compares to this inexpensive Vector 10x scope, I’m thinking the only difference I’ll see is the eye relief will probly be better on the SWFA scope but I could be wrong...This is my 1st ever fixed power scope so by no means am I a expert when it comes to fixed power I can only give you my honest opinion and for the price this one is ok.

Imold's review is pretty much spot on. I bought the 10x44 also and was really impressed by how rugged it felt. The eye-box is tight, but to be honest I always put my face in the same spot, so not much of an issue once set up for me. The clarity was quite good and the reticle is fantastic. I would have to say that it is my personal favorite at this time. Which really makes the next part hard; I am sending it back. After setting the scope up on my gun and leveling everything precisely I found out the reticle was a full 5 degress counter clockwise off. It doesn't sound like much until you see it for yourself. Anyway, I don't want to roll the dice again at this time but I probably will down the road. I really liked everything about it except for the quality control. To be fair though, if it wasn't mounted when checked they would never catch a problem like that. I hope that they get a handle on qc because it is a great deal.
