For around $300 or under I would consider the Walther Terrus. The Cometa Fusion is another option.

It's a hair over $300 but a 50S from Krale fits the bill nicely. Mine keeps pace with my 97 fairly well and comes with a Rekord trigger.

Another plug for the HW50s. Just finding time to get mine broken in. You should plan on sending a tin or three through it to get it settled, also clean, polish, and wax the barrel. Hard to beat for the money.

I got my HW 50 a couple years ago on sale for $300 and is worth every penny of it. Sometimes it’s best to wait and save if you don’t have quite enough to get what you want or you might be disappointed if you try to pinch a few pennies.

While I don't own a HW50 I would agree that those are a best fit for your purposes. Quality is high and they have the Rekord trigger. A stock 34 will not be as smooth shooting. Sadly, 34's are out of production, meaning you would have to go to the used market and they don't come up often.

Yet another in favor of the HW50s. Even throw out your qualifier of $300 and I'd still say HW50s in .177. Mine beat out an HW77k, two FWB Sports, and an RX2, all springers in the $500-700 range. I still have the HW50s and the rest went on down the road. Have shot friends tx200s and they didnt do much for me, at least not to the point of buying my own. The Walther LGU is up there as one that still interests me, after shooting a buddies, but price is around double your $300, and I think I heard they're not even made anymore so it'd be used market.

HW50s is a fine rifle and is still being made. Looks like prices have gone up on those.
