Best scopes for springers??

Oh boy, here we go. 😂

I'm using a pair of UTG 3-9x32AO scopes on my 2 scope crushing nitro piston guns, but I destroyed 4 of them before getting a couple that has now lasted 6 and 8 months.

My advice is to buy a scope with a good warranty and just keep sending it back when it fails. Eventually you will get one that holds up awhile.

Maybe just buy 2 so you will have a backup to use while waiting on the new one to arrive. And just keep rotating them out. 👍

That is what I do.

There will be an endless amount of recommendations made in response to that question. I have Hawke and Vortex scopes on my springers. Both are good. I have come to prefer the Vortex and they do have a no BS lifetime warranty. If it ever does break.......you get it replaced. Mine has performed exceptionally well on what is considered to be by many a not very scope friendly springer. I have a 4-12x40 Vortex Crossfire II mounted on a Diana 34.....under $200. There are many options out there. My only advise would be don't go "cheap". There is inexpensive with really descent quality and there there is cheap. Do your research.

Back when I used to shoot springers,
I had hit and miss luck with scopes - most likely due to their recoil..

There are mounts available that help prevent - maybe even eliminate issues.

Example: Bullseye Zero-Recoil Mount

I wish that I had known about stuff like this years ago!
More scope options, and no doubt would have saved doll-hairs in the end.

Sam -

I shoot a springer scope killer and thankfully I purchased a Rex scope from Flying Air Dragons. I have about 1500 shots through this scope killer that destroyed a Hammer scope in 15 shots. I had the Hammer on another springer for two years and I thought the high powered scope killer could handle it. Nope. Buy A Rex scope . Downside , no mildots. Upside Mike from Flying Air Dragons backs up everything. and the scopes are not expensive.

So are all the vortex scopes air gun rated and if not then what are the models that are

No. They do not state nor claim that they are "springer" rated. Personally, I think that the "springer rated" scope is a crock of crap. I've heard too may guys comment and report on how their "springer" rated scope took a dump on their springer. It happens all the time. It boils down to the durability and quality of the internals of the scope. None of my scopes are "springer" rated and have now seen thousands of firing cycles atop springers. As for Vortex.....how can you lose?? Go to their website and check out their VIP warranty. It doesn't matter how, when or where if it breaks. It's covered and they will take care of you. SWFA is non "springer" rated. But just ask around about their scopes as to whether it would hold up to a springer recoil or not. They absolutely will. Do your research and whatever your budget....get the most you can.

I have the LGV in .177 topped off with a 3-15 SWFA, The darn thing is an absolute laser. Zero problems with that scope, puts it right on target any time I grab the gun. I have taken chipmunks at 30 yards with confidence in both the gun and the scope. I have it shooting at 12fpe, so can’t speak for a magnum powered rifle, but at 12fpe it’s a joy to shoot & the scope has never let me down.

I have Hawke 6-24x50 SF 30 Airmax scopes on my AA TX200 .177 and Weihrauch HW97K. Several thousands shots later very satisfied. I did have one issue with one of them and it was replaced with a new one and back to me within a week or less - no questions asked.

Highly recommend.

+1 I have 12 springers and all have Hawke scopes. Some of those guns have thousands of shots through them. No issues with a single scope. Not saying that they can't go bad, but at least I know if they do Hawke's replacement policy is as good as it gets.

Iv been using the Diana ZR1 mounts for a few months now, 1 on my D350 Magnum a real scope killer.Have a Hawk Vantage on it after months of shooting no problems.I put one on my H+W 98 with a Hawk Air Max 30 and am getting great groups with no POI shift.I also have one on a D 430L with the Diana scope (AOA deal for $300) you can use any scope with this mount. Iv been shooting spring guns for many years and have tried many combos of scopes and mounts and I think the ZR1 mount could be a real game changer.
