Even the older 397 with the wooden stock has too high of a comb .It was impossible to use the open sites, so I had no choice but to put a scope on it. I don’t know what they’re thinking. Do they have two year olds designing them with a little heads?

Peep: I’d not try reshaping the synthetic stock. Likely thin-walled, and you’ll cut thru into a big cavity as you remove plastic during shaping

Thanks for the heads up dan_house. Thought of filling the stock with expanding foam and then grinding to fit my face. Then a layer of fiber glass and finish with Bondo before repainting.

Thought about it and decided to try raising the sights instead of lowering the comb. Maybe a little cramped, but it worked for me.
