Best scope for spring underlever

I am currently running a 3-9 hawke airmax scope on my TX 200 i have a HW97k on the way and am thinking about trying another scope out. While i really like the air max it is an older version and im not familiar with any of the updates or possibly better scopes for spring guns currently. so my question is what are you guys running? bot of these guns will be stock (for now) and i plan on shooting them out to 50yds so no need for crazy high end scopes

I use a Lepers 3x12x44 Mildot etched glass reticule on my .22 TX and am very happy with it.

Other than this, the Leupold VX FREEDOM EFR 3-9x33 with no hum plain crosshair reticle or Japan Bushnell TAC 5-15x40 AO Mildot ($200 - $250 shop smart OR NOT retails for $499). Both most likely to be trouble free on a Springer.

I have two under-levers, an Air Arms TX200 and a Diana 460 Magnum (and a Diana 48 side-lever). I have Hawke 3-9x40 scopes on all three. It didn't take long for the 460 to destroy the Hawke I put on it - got where it won't hold zero. The ones on the 200 and the 48 faired well.

And then I head about a mount made by Diana called a NR Bullseye (No Recoil) mount. They made the mount just for springers. I got three and used them to re-mount the Hawkes on my springers. So far all is well. all the scopes are doing well. And the mounts haven't hurt the guns' accuracy, either.

Here's the mount:

I try to fit the right scope to the rifle but more often I end up switching scopes from one rifle to the other seeing for inexplicable reasons the scope works BETTER on the SECOND rifl I end up trying it on!

It's because weight and specs and things in all scopes seem endless and you may pick what you think is PERFECT for your HW80 .20 Left Hand is the Vortex Viper 30mm tube!

BUT! I took THAT scope OFF the HW80 .20 and remounted it in a Diana ZR Mount atop my HW80K .22 Long Range Hunter! There it WORKS better than the HW 3-9X 40.

In all retrospect however, I would figure the best scope for an underlever is first to use Zero Recoil mounts from Diana (nobody else sells these things). Second, choose the scope you feel gives the most satisfaction in those ZR mounts.

The "right scope" may not be right the first time but save it for comparison and eventually you'll be glad you invested in it.

I use a $70.00 scope on my $1800 .20 D54 mounted in ZR mounts to preserve the excellent optics exactly where aimed in all seasons; An old 3-10X Black Powder Traditions parallax set for 40 yards and centered through reticle alignment inside the rings. It takes a gunsmith but if he knows more than you do you can always pay him what he is worth!

Actually there is another recoil reducing mount. It's the Dampa mount by Sportsmatch. I bought it because I didn't like the looks of the Diana mount. With those springs and so much movement (in the videos I saw) it just looked like too much to go wrong later on. I saw a lot of mixed reviews on the Diana mount too. I can't swear the Dampa will be perfect, but it's my choice.

If you can live with a fixed power optic, the SWFA scopes have held up very well for me on my D48, D460, and BSL Lightning XL GRT. The D48 has destroyed two or three scopes over the years but the SWFAs seem to hold up just fine. I've got two 10x by 42s and a 6x by 42. The retical is a bit fine for old eyes but the adjustments are positive and repeatable. It is good glass at the price for sure. You'll pay double that for the same quality, my opinion.

I always worry about recoil on any springer rifle I care about with the scope I put on top. I will pay $70 to just put the scope of my choice in the Diana ZR set up to save the scope of my choice without any worry it will get hurt.

However, let's be honest, why spend 70 every time you mount a scope? I thought leaving the HW98 .177 Hawke Scope in the fixed mounts would be okay only because the air gun shop mounted it in fixed mounts and as you know the HW98 is a "heavy rifle" but there is STILL recoil and I think in time I will have to replace the Hawke Scope on my HW98 in staked fixed mounts for breakage by air spring recoil.
