Best rangefinder

I really enjoy longe range hunting with airguns and have been using a very old rangefinder but i’m starting to feel like it may not be the best option and may be not be giving the correct distances all the time. Anyone have any rangefinders they’d recommend for preferably under 400?

The MTC with the ballistic app looks interesting. The $300 with app doesn’t seem to bad.

I've had good luck with my (now vintage) Zeiss PRF...

But buying another one for airgun-shooting-distances, I'd have a look at the golf-archery rangefinder offering from Nikon/Bushnell

Probably not missing much unless your old range finder is inaccurate ,you missing some futures or want something smaller/different.

I recently pickup Athlon Midas at Cameraland https://cameralandny.com/shop/athlon-optics-midas-1200y-rangefinder/bcdafed0-a226-0135-0439-00163ecd2826?variation=1628580 to replace my 10y old Nikon, just to see if I'm missing something.

Few things I like it more over my old rangefinder;

1.Range down to 5 yards (old one to 10)

2.Shows distance every 0.1 yards (or 0.2 yards, old one every 1 yard)

3.Shows angle of the shoot , not a big deal for me at the moment but I may need it in the future.

4.More compact

So I'm happy with my decision.

Personally for me, a range finder for airgunning doesn't need to be "great", I went for cheap and it hasn't let me down once. I don't get it past 100 yards much, but it still works great beyond that. You can always get the fancy once that help your math with your trajectory but that's pushing it for me.

I just bought a Sig Sauer Kilo 1600 to replace my Simmons. The Simmons still works fine but has a black display, the red LED display on the Sig is much better in low light situations.

IMHO, you don't need a fancy/expensive range finder. Get one like this and buy more pellets with the money you saved.

Hard to beat a Bushnell at WallyWorld for $79 bucks. Mine has better glass than my older Leupold that went belly up.

Sig Kilo for me. Had it 3 or 4 years with no problems. Use it regularly with no issues. Battery life has been great too.

Well I am an Athlon fan when it comes to scopes and they even replaced my Midas Tac I dropped and bent the front bell with their lifetime warranty. Just ordered up one from camera land after reading this thread best price out there by far.

Just redeemed some of my Cabelas CC points and got a Simmons Prosport 600 for free!! They were on clearance for $99. Works well and down to 5 yards in my informal testing).

I just got this one. Looks and feels really nice and ranges very quickly through the window. No idea on accuracy yet, though supposed to be good from my research. I felt like I could not beat it for the price.
