Isn’t it one of those things where the best pellet is the one that works best in your Gun? Different ones work different ways in different guns, right?

For every rifle I've owned the JSB Redesign's and their clone the FX pellets have shot quite well.

I used to buy the Crosman Pointed simply because they were often the only walk in local buy other than wadcutters in a plastic flip top box. They weren't the best shooting, but they did come 500 to a tin and they were cheap. Then I got 2 tins that were just about useless. It seemed like every pellet was a different size. Some were undersized and some needed a probe to force them into the bore. I had no receipt and no idea where I had purchased them. I ended up throwing 2 full tins in the trash and placed a big order for H&N FTTs with Pyramyd. CPHPs are probably much better, than the pointeds but I simply don't see them on the shelf at the local stores very often, and I've still got around 8000 H&Ns.

In my experience, there is no best. Only the one that shoots best I any particular gun. At least that is how I evaluate pellets.
