Just orders a discovery & would like to skip the pellets that don't perform in it , So what is the best pellet for hunting in this Rifle??

Mine liked H+N FTT while it was a .22. The factory barrel would throw fliers until I cleaned up the crown. Order a second barrel band right away.

the JSB line will work well in it.i have two discos and a maximus and they shoot lights out straight out of the box,no second barrel band needed.i did buy two barrels bands but have not seen the need to install them on disco or maximus.,,

There are a lot of variables there, and unfortunately, there is no "one size fits all" answer.
Being a Benjamin/Crosman product, you should at least buy a tin of Crosman Premier Hollow Points. They're cheap and usually locally available too. They're hard as rock though, so for smaller game, they'll over-penetrate and not expand. They blow right through squirrels with no expansion. (not good, since it doesn't transfer the energy you have on tap) You can lube them by putting them on an old, clean rag, give them a light spray of furniture polish like Pledge, and toss them around until they have a light coating. Let them dry, put them in a clean tin, and you're ready to go.

My discovery is a 22 caliber and I will primarily be hunting with Chuck's with us for farm pesting

JSB's shoot very good. in your situation I'd go with the 18's or H&N 21's. You'll do the best at the shorter ranges with the heavier pellets. Test the guns capabilities, as others have said it's not 100 yard gun, it is a good 100 footer

Thanx smaug, UPS package on my **** porch when I came home today obviously my new gun and I did pick up those Crossman premier pallets as you suggested I'll be playing with that in the basement tonight thanks for the tips are going to try the different kinds of pellets you suggested

I am definitely going to try the heavier pellets for the penetrating benefits vs the lighter ones P S I do hope the 100 ft comment was a play on words ? While 100 yrds may be a stretch 100 ft would be a disappointment. Ile settle for 70 yrds

the disco is good out to 55 yards.at 40 yards they pretty accurate...I shoot the 15.9 JSBs.

Out to 55 yards (distance to my driveway) ad Grackle size critters my 22 Disco kinda likes the H&N Baracuda Hunter 18.21 Grain.
