+1 on the cricket,got mine used and have shot the snot out of it super accurate ,high shot count and the best mags imo great power find a good deal on a used one or get the new side lever ,have not got to try a vet yet they look awesome to

Concerning the rear cocking, several guys have used their noo trigger hand to reach over the breech to cock the gun. I haven't tried it but there's some videos showing this.

Absolutely! I give mine the ol reach around all the time. I have actually come to prefer this over the Mid Side Lever action.

For farming i used to love the wildcat in .25 Would definitly recommened even the older models for much less than your price range. Used to shoot squirrels from 95+yds easy.
