Ok, I'll play...

If someone said to me "grab ONE gun we're going shooting" without specifying any details, I'd grab my most versatile PCP to cover most situations. That would be my. 22 caliber FX Crown.

As far as a "best" gun for specific applications, I have a bunch of them.

I don't know about the list never ending. I did a lot of looking before I decided on the two that I have now. Between them, they do everything I need.
Yes, I do drool over the latest and greatest when I see them but I just ask myself, what do I get that I don't already have. The primary answer is a larger credit card balance.

Just do you research and choose wisely.

I did start with a bunch of cheaper guns and moved up through price tiers. I can honestly say there have been some cheaper guns that have surprised me over some of the higher end ones, for the price difference. It's my curiosity that gets me, i guess. Still find myself buying guns that I know will get outperformed by guns I already own. That's just me tho.

If I had to cut it down to just 2, it wouldn't fullfil the needs with some of the single purpose ones I have. I guess technically I could if it involved quick and easy caliber changes, but dont have anything setup like that for now. I also usually have 2 of the kids shooting with me, so wouldn't be enough to go around, atleast that's what I keep telling myself lol

No such thing as best as each have there own application.
question should be more like what pcp would be best for this application.
