I am new to air rifles and know next to nothing about optics. I am shooting rats at dusk/night outside my barn. My Brocock does not have an iron sight so I have a scope that I believe is 3x. I purchased a Pard 007 to allow me to avoid using a spotlight and have the ability to switch to daytime shooting. Most of the rats are in the 25-30 foot range. I need quick target acquisition- I have killed all of the slow rats- but the magnification makes this difficult. I assume there is an easy answer to this question. I spoke to the guy at my local gun store and received what I presume is the same blank stare that all air rifle people get at gun stores.
