Best magnification? 4x14x44?

I have found 2.5-3 to 14-18 x 50 FFP to be the sweet spot for me for all my hunting rifles, powder or air. If I can get those magnifications in FFP around 27oz or less and parallax at 25 or less I am happy. Good glass that isn't too dark at full magnification is more important than the actual max mag in my opinion.

Yup I love my Aztecs 
and as I often shoot out to 200 yards the 25 magnification comes in handy there as well.

I use a Hawke Vantage scope, either 3-9x40 or 4-12x40. If I'm going to taking a long shot (to me, past 35 yards) I use the 4-12.

Gimme an 8* fixed mag, 10* maybe, for hunting. Can't be beat for easy target acquisition. The military snipers' long time favorite.
