In my opinion and it is just mine, none of these super modern pcp types, big tanks, bullpups, bright laminated stocks ect, ect are good looking, in fact I find them rather ugly, I can see where some are very functional like that aluminum stocked Anschutz. I like a traditional styled stock with good wood. Call me a traditionalist, to the extreme.

Gonna agree w you to a certain point.

Calling anything production and especially tactical "best looking" requires so much stretching of the imagination. Leishys & M4s are good enough looking guns, but best looking?

I like to call the tactical guns erector set or Meccano. There is a beauty in function. And I like the look. The bottle I am not so fond of. But I can live with it as a stock.
That's where it no longer becomes an object of craftsmanship & simply something average Joe assembles on the WE.

It doesn't necessarily come down to wood furniture. Beautifully machined steel & aluminum goes just as far

Dont get me wrong on the form following function side of black guns either. I own my fair share & there's a reason they all superficially look the same..if it were simply a matter of how a gun performs.

I appreciate both. I am not a wood worker at all . I am really bad at it. So I appreciate someone doing what I can’t. But I was a machinist and a mechanic for decades. So I really appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making the metal guns. And with airguns tuning is what I really like to do. So both are actually great.

It's hard to beat the beauty of a nicely figured walnut stock so rather than post more walnut I'll go for something a little different. 🤪

I got a bit carried away with this maple and yew stock I made for my AR20. Being custom fitted, form does follows requirements very closely while allowing for some "artistic license".

Cheers!

would love to see a video in the making , but i imagine it is a bit late of a request . Wonderful imaginative work
Stan in KY .

Stan,

I didn't even take pictures of that project, 'twas sort of cobbled together on the fly from some scraps I had lying around the workshop. It turned out well considering it wasn't really planned. 🤪

I bought the AR20 for Field Target shooting. It was always a couple of hours drive to the events so I planned on dropping out after the first season. When one of the guys offered me a full decked out TX200 in a nice GinB stock (plus the original stock and a bunch of spring kits) as an even trade for the AR20 I jumped on it.

The AR20 fit him perfectly and I'm more than happy with the TX200. A great deal for both of us!

Here's the TX200...
