Best hdd for marauder

Hey dudes I have a marauder field and target that I got from Joe broncato at airtanksforsale.Com it has a hdd installed and I am told it gets better shot count. My ft marauder does get a ton of shots but I have no point of reference showing how much better it really is. I recently bought a marauder gen2 25 cal and want to install a hdd myself. My question is his the best out there? It's 50 bucks so kinda steep in my opinion. Is there a homemade solution? Is there a cheaper option? If Joe's is the best so be it I'm just looking for a cheaper option if it works well. Thanks

+1 to home made ssg. I never published mine, which is likely one of the most superior integrations for a marauder, with only one in mind that would be superior (same concept but with bolt locked in place with gap adjuster to keep the device from jumping forward with the hammer, its true benefits not really known, only speculated)

I will however show you a picture and describe it a tad...but the details that go into this build are too much for me to want to write out to the T, nor do I want to 'support' this method with people asking this or that. My design is a 'behind the hammer' design that doesn't add mass to your hammer, nor does the design rob or steal some of the energy upon departing. My design allows the ssg to retain the tune, so I can simply remove a rear adjuster cap I had custom fabricated to the rear plug, and swap 'tunes / springs' in 15 seconds.

The build requires a hammer well that is a bit deeper than the hammers throw to allow it to cock, it also requires the head of the ssg to be twice that of your gap, it also requires the rear of the ssg bolt to fit within the gap adjuster screw by a distance twice that of your gap, so that your internal ssg device never 'falls' out of place...those two parameters / tolerances are very tight being .1"~...but manageable. All said, this method is far more complex to integrate into a marauder than most people are willing to do. It takes either hammer modification or a custom hammer to allow a .85"-1" pocket, and a gap adjuster with a .1" built in pocket for the bolt to rest in....This design requires 1.75" - 2" springs, or further modifications to allow 2.25"-2.5" springs. My personal spring ratings range from 5 lb, to 10 lb, making 20 to 70 fpe on those ratings, with a 51 gr hammer.

Nearly all other ssgs built for marauders use the through the hammer type, that both add a ton of weight to your hammer, but also rob more energy by design, making them require a bit more cocking force than the design I've shown here...

Cost for this device?

less than 2$ per ssg carrier..

hammer mods = free

gap adjuster and modding it = 30 cents

Custom springs = 12-20$ (I also use an ace hardware spring or two, which are like 1.70$ as YO mentioned, so that said you can get by with 4$ in springs...)
